Continuing my focus on checklists and considering that just went through the giving season....I'm sharing the single most important list for a personal services business...specifically personal preferences.
When I think of Home & Personal Services there is overlap with the trades. For this I will avoid businesses that use power tools.
This leaves:
Realtors
Psychologists
Doctors *
Cleaning Services *
Decorators
Laundry *
Personal Assistants/Shoppers
Dog Walkers
Personal Trainers *
Stylists *
*Yes I know these professional have power in some of their tools...
For these businesses the checklist needs to ensure the business stays close to the PERSON. Sometimes you can get this information when meeting for the first time. In other cases it needs to be acquired over time. Here is a single checklist of information that you can collect on clients and prospects to keep the PERSON in PERSONAL Services.
Family Member Names
Pet Names
Schools
Birthdays
Anniversaries
Hobbies
Allergies
Personal Preferences Likes/Dislikes
Favorite Travel
House flow and layout
Imagine the reaction when you show you cared to know more about them. So create a system to capture it, save it, and have it for recall when you need it. I use OneNote and my Address Book. I'm sure some of you have your own system in your CRM. Either way....fill those empty boxes with information your clients really care about.
